I have had many requests for 3ds versions of the Max2 files. I have converted most of them and they are available below (see the links below the Max2 version).
The models are free, but if you use any of my models in your work, please let me know as I would be interested to see how they are used. Obviously you can not use them in commercial products as the original designs belong to the various film or television companies.
This model is much more accurate than my previous eagles. It is a Max2 file (eagle1.zip 4.37Mb) and has 296 seperate objects which are not linked in any way at the moment. I will be building a complete interior and linking the landing gear so it works properly, there will also be working doors etc. The surface maps are all new and are in a separate file. (newmaps.zip 722kb). Note that this model is not in the same scale as the other eagles and pods. You will have to resize the winch pod, booster etc, to use them with this new model.
The lightwave version of this model is in one zip file (JM-Eagle.zip 3.55Mb) and contains all the surface maps. The conversion was done by Andy Marrs who has done a great job.
Here is another conversion of the eagle by Edward E Lamb. He has done a very good job in reducing the face count of the original model (from about 300,000 to 145,000), without loosing any detail. There is one zip file (eagle.zip 1.9Mb) which does not contain the surface maps, so you will need the file above (newmaps.zip).
There are four files for this model. "thead.zip" ( The head 590KB), "ttop.zip" ( The torso and arms 901KB), "tbottom.zip" (The pelvis and legs 576KB), and "armgun.zip" (A forarm and hand holding a big gun 338KB). There is also a bitmap file used as a bump map for the gun (map.zip 80KB).
There have been lots of variations of dalek over the years, this one is a basic grey model from the 70's Dr Who. There is one file for this model "mk4dalek.zip" (427KB). It is in 3ds format and the zip file has a bitmap in it which is needed for the model.
All the Max2 eagle files have been improved as from the 6th July 1998. See my Eagle transporter page for the improvements made to the models. There is a different structure to the files, no maps are now contained in the zipped files, they are available as one file (maps.zip 430Kb) . Note; even if you have the original eagle maps you will still need the file below, as many of them have been re-named and some others are different.
The main body is in one file (meteagle.zip 1.92Mb).
There is one main pod but with two side walls on top of each other (one has the red stripes), just hide or delete the one you don,t want to render. There is one file (eaglepod.zip 308 Kb).
moonbug.zip contains the Max2 file of the buggy and the bitmaps needed for the model (242 Kb).
The tardis model is in 3ds Max format. It is in one file (tardis-m.zip 0.97Mb) which contains all the surface maps (in TIF format). Note: that the surface maps are by Christopher Gill, they are from his tardis model, which you can see on my Dr Who page.
